About these terms

Welcome to HonestPause. These terms apply when you create an account or use the service. By using HonestPause, you agree to them.

Important: what HonestPause is not

HonestPause offers an AI companion to talk with about gambling habits, urges, and recovery. It is not therapy, not counselling, and not medical care.

The AI companion is not a therapist, counsellor, or medical provider. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it is not a crisis service. It should never be used as a substitute for professional help. If things feel too heavy, or you are in crisis, use ourcrisis resources — they are free and always available, whether or not you have an account.

Nothing on HonestPause is medical advice. If you have questions about your health, speak with a qualified professional.

Your account

You need an account to use check-ins, the recovery program, and the dashboard. You must be 18 or older to create one, and the information you give us must be accurate.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.

Plans, billing, and refunds

HonestPause has three plans: Free ($0), Starter ($24 per month), and Complete ($59 per month). Paid plans renew automatically each month until you cancel them, which you can do from the Plan & billing section of your Account page. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Payments are handled by Paddle.com, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle processes the charge, handles taxes, and manages refunds. If you want a refund for a specific transaction, contact Paddle directly — they deal with refund requests for the transaction you paid.

Prices are shown in US dollars and may change with reasonable notice. Crisis support is free on every plan, always, with no limits.

Acceptable use

Use HonestPause for yourself, honestly and in good faith. That means: don't use it to harm yourself or others, don't try to extract or reuse the AI companion's underlying systems, don't scrape, resell, or automate access to the service, and don't use it while impersonating someone else or in breach of any law that applies to you.

We may suspend or end accounts that misuse the service or put other people, or the service itself, at risk.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Privacy & data section of your Account page. Deleting your account removes your check-ins, program progress, and settings, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we end your account for a breach, you won't be entitled to a refund for the period you've already paid.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

HonestPause is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it available and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose — and the AI companion can sometimes say things that are wrong or unhelpful.

To the fullest extent the law allows, HonestPause isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or data, or for losses arising from decisions you make based on the AI companion's suggestions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When a change is significant, we'll tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use HonestPause after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
